Sara Apple Loaf Recipe

2/3 cup
2 cups
2 large

2 cups
2 teaspoons
1 teaspoon
2 teaspoon
1 teaspoon
1 cup
1/2 cup
vegetable oil
sugar
eggs
apples, chopped
all purpose flour
baking soda
salt
cinnamon
nutmeg
walnuts, chopped
raisins
nonstick pan spray

Oven Temp: 350°
Recipe Cooking Time: 45 minutes
Pan Type: 9 x 5" loaf pan


Apple Loaf Directions

Preheat Oven.

In a large mixing bowl combine the oil, sugar and eggs. Beat until fluffy. Stir in the chopped apples. Add the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Mix apple loaf dough well. Fold in the walnuts and raisins. Spray loaf pan and pour in apple loaf dough. Bake apple loaf for the allotted time or until toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean. Remove loaf from pan and let cool on a wire rack.

Recipe Serves: 10 – 12

Note: This Apple Loaf is moist and delicious, Sarah Lee could not make it any better.

Substitute, substitute, substitute. Recipes were made to be messed with. Use alternative ingredients to make your recipes healthier. Cook with broth (low-sodium vegetable, low-fat chicken or beef) instead of with oils. Use vinaigrettes or citrus-juice-based dressings instead of creamy ones, which are often full of saturated fat. Try olive oil, skim milk, or yogurt instead of butter or cream. Re-work dessert recipes that require heavy cream with evaporated skim milk or yogurt. For cakes and other desserts, substitute fresh-fruit puree as a topping instead of frosting. And one of my favorites: pancakes with applesauce, not maple syrup. These changes will give your favorite recipes great new flavor, and your food will be healthier!
