Heavenly Biscuits Recipe

2 cups
1 tablespoon
1 tablespoon
1/2 teaspoon
1/2 teaspoon
1/3 cup
1 tablespoon
3/4 cup
2 – 4 tablespoons
flour
baking powder
sugar
salt
baking soda
shortening
lemon juice
milk
flour

Oven Temp: 450°
Recipe Cooking Time: 12 – 15 minutes
Pan Type: baking sheet


Biscuits Recipe Directions

Preheat Oven.

Put the lemon juice in a cup with the milk and set aside. Sift the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt into a mixing bowl. Cut in the shortening with a fork until crumbly. Stir in the sugar and mix well. Add milk mixture to the flour mixture. Stir with fork until heavenly biscuit dough clings together. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of flour on a sheet of foil or cutting board. Turn biscuits dough out. Knead dough 15 times, adding up to 2 tablespoons flour if needed. Roll biscuits dough to 1/2 inch thick. Cut biscuits with a 2” biscuit cutter. Place heavenly biscuits onto a un-greased cookie sheet. Bake biscuits for allotted time or until a nice golden brown. Serve biscuits warm with jam or honey if desired.
