Garlic Bread on the Grill Recipe

1 large
1 cup
2 – 4 teaspoons
2 teaspoons
1/2 – 1 teaspoon
french bread (whole)
softened butter
fresh minced garlic
parsley flakes
paprika

Cooking Surface: gas grill or hot coals


Garlic Bread Directions

Split your bread in half with a serrated knife. Do not cut all the way through.

Mix the softened butter, garlic and parsley. Spread both sides of the bread with the garlic mixture. Sprinkle both sides of garlic bread with paprika. Wrap bread in heavy duty foil. Put garlic bread on grill and heat for 10 – 12 minutes. Half way through cooking, turn the bread over. Slice the garlic bread and serve.

Recipe Serves: about 12

Substitute, substitute, substitute. Recipes were made to be messed with. Use alternative ingredients to make your recipes healthier. Cook with broth (low-sodium vegetable, low-fat chicken or beef) instead of with oils. Use vinaigrettes or citrus-juice-based dressings instead of creamy ones, which are often full of saturated fat. Try olive oil, skim milk, or yogurt instead of butter or cream. Re-work dessert recipes that require heavy cream with evaporated skim milk or yogurt. For cakes and other desserts, substitute fresh-fruit puree as a topping instead of frosting. And one of my favorites: pancakes with applesauce, not maple syrup. These changes will give your favorite recipes great new flavor, and your food will be healthier!
