Applesauce Bread Recipe

1/4 cup
2 1/2 cups
2 large
2 cups
4 cup
2 tablespoons
1 teaspoon
1 teaspoon
2 cup
oil
granulated sugar
eggs
applesauce
flour
baking powder
baking soda
ground cinnamon
walnuts, chopped

Oven Temp: 350°
Recipe Cooking Time: 60 – 70 minutes
Pan Type: 2 – 9 x 5" bread loaf pans


Applesauce Bread Directions

Preheat the oven.

In a large mixer bowl, mix the oil, sugar and eggs until well blended. Add the applesauce and mix well. Add the flour, baking powder, baking soda and cinnamon. Mix recipe all together well. Stir in the chopped walnuts. Pour applesauce bread batter into loaf pans that have been spayed with nonstick pan spray. Bake apple sauce bread for the allotted time or until toothpick inserted to the middle comes out clean.

Recipe Yields: 2 applesauce bread loaves.

Substitute, substitute, substitute. Recipes were made to be messed with. Use alternative ingredients to make your recipes healthier. Cook with broth (low-sodium vegetable, low-fat chicken or beef) instead of with oils. Use vinaigrettes or citrus-juice-based dressings instead of creamy ones, which are often full of saturated fat. Try olive oil, skim milk, or yogurt instead of butter or cream. Re-work dessert recipes that require heavy cream with evaporated skim milk or yogurt. For cakes and other desserts, substitute fresh-fruit puree as a topping instead of frosting. And one of my favorites: pancakes with applesauce, not maple syrup. These changes will give your favorite recipes great new flavor, and your food will be healthier!
