Good Buttermilk Waffles Recipe

2 large
2 cups
1/3 cup
1 teaspoon
2 cups
2 tablespoons
2 teaspoons
1 teaspoon

good buttermilk
vegetable oil
all purpose flour
granulated sugar
baking powder

Recipe Cooking Time: per manufactures instructions
Pan Type: waffles iron

Buttermilk waffles Directions

Preheat your waffle iron.

In a large mixing bowl beat the eggs until good and fluffy. Stir in the good buttermilk, oil and vanilla. In a separate bowl combine the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Stir well to blend. Add to liquids and mix on low speed of mixer until well blended. Bake good buttermilk waffles in a hot waffle iron according to manufactures directions. Serve buttermilk waffles along with butter and syrup.

Recipe Serves: 6 waffles

Note: I like to make freezer jam, but it does not always set up. It is one of the few things that you can make that does not turn out and not have it go to waste. As a matter of fact it is a real treat on waffles and ice cream. Yummy good!

Substitute, substitute, substitute. Recipes were made to be messed with. Use alternative ingredients to make your recipes healthier. Cook with broth (low-sodium vegetable, low-fat chicken or beef) instead of with oils. Use vinaigrettes or citrus-juice-based dressings instead of creamy ones, which are often full of saturated fat. Try olive oil, skim milk, or yogurt instead of butter or cream. Re-work dessert recipes that require heavy cream with evaporated skim milk or yogurt. For cakes and other desserts, substitute fresh-fruit puree as a topping instead of frosting. And one of my favorites: pancakes with applesauce, not maple syrup. These changes will give your favorite recipes great new flavor, and your food will be healthier!
