Buttermilk Pancakes Recipe

2 cups
2 tablespoons
3 cups
1 teaspoon
2 tablespoons
2 teaspoon
Saffola oil
baking soda
baking powder

Temperature: medium
Recipe Cooking Time: 4 – 6 minutes
Pan Type: 12" skillet or griddle

Buttermilk Pancakes Directions

Preheat the pan for pancakes.

Place the buttermilk and baking soda in a large mixing bowl. Beat at low speed with mixer. Add eggs sugar and oil, then blend well. Add salt, flour and baking powder, then mix well. Heat oil in the skillet or griddle. Cook buttermilk pancakes until the underside is golden brown and surface is bubbly. About 2 – 3 minutes. Turn pancakes and cook 2 – 3 minutes or until the second side is golden brown also. Serve buttermilk pancakes with butter and syrup. Buttermilk pancakes are good with jam or make homemade jam is best.

Substitute, substitute, substitute. Recipes were made to be messed with. Use alternative ingredients to make your recipes healthier. Cook with broth (low-sodium vegetable, low-fat chicken or beef) instead of with oils. Use vinaigrettes or citrus-juice-based dressings instead of creamy ones, which are often full of saturated fat. Try olive oil, skim milk, or yogurt instead of butter or cream. Re-work dessert recipes that require heavy cream with evaporated skim milk or yogurt. For cakes and other desserts, substitute fresh-fruit puree as a topping instead of frosting. And one of my favorites: pancakes with applesauce, not maple syrup. These changes will give your favorite recipes great new flavor, and your food will be healthier!
