Twisted Cinnamon Muffins Recipe
Twisted Cinnamon Muffins

2 cups
1 3/4 teaspoon
1 teaspoon
1/3 cup
2/3 cup
1/4 cup
2 tablespoons
1/4 cup
all purpose flour
baking soda
salt
shortening
milk
butter
cinnamon
sugar

Oven Temp: 400°
Recipe Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Pan Type: muffins pans


Cinnamon Muffins Directions

Preheat your oven and spray your muffins pan with non stick pan spray.

In a large bowl combine the flour, baking soda and salt, then mix well.
Cut in the shortening with a fork until recipe mixture resembles crumbs.
Add the milk and mix well. Next, sprinkle the cutting board with flour.
Turn muffins dough out unto the floured surface and knead lightly 5 times.
Pull pieces of dough apart and roll with hands like you were making a pretzel.
Melt the butter in a microwave proof bowl.

In a small bowl mix the cinnamon and the sugar.
Dip the rolled dough into the melted butter and then roll the dough in the cinnamon sugar mixture.

Twist the dough and tie into a knot and place in muffin pan.

Bake twisted cinnamon muffins until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
Serve yummy cinnamon muffins hot.

 

*If desired sprinkle chopped nuts of your choosing on top of the twisted cinnamon muffins before backing.

Recipe Yields: about 8 muffins
