Guacamole Recipe

2 pounds
2 tablespoons
2 cloves
1/4 cup
1/2 teaspoon
1/4 teaspoon
parsley flakes
garlic, minced
fresh green chili, seeded, minced
lemon juice
chili powder
tomato, chopped

Recipe Container: medium mixing bowl

Guacamole Dip Directions

Peel and seed the avocados. Put them into a medium bowl and use a potato masher to mash. Add the parsley flakes, minced garlic, minced chili, lemon juice, salt, chili powder and chopped tomato. Mix guacamole dip well. Cover guacamole and refrigerate until ready to use.

Recipe Yields: about 2 1/2 cups

Note: Where can I get good fresh avocados? At Costco they sell better quality fruit and vegetables than anywhere. Sure some of theirs are damaged also, but all-in-all they are the best. Make some delicious guacamole dip today.

Substitute, substitute, substitute. Recipes were made to be messed with. Use alternative ingredients to make your recipes healthier. Cook with broth (low-sodium vegetable, low-fat chicken or beef) instead of with oils. Use vinaigrettes or citrus-juice-based dressings instead of creamy ones, which are often full of saturated fat. Try olive oil, skim milk, or yogurt instead of butter or cream. Re-work dessert recipes that require heavy cream with evaporated skim milk or yogurt. For cakes and other desserts, substitute fresh-fruit puree as a topping instead of frosting. And one of my favorites: pancakes with applesauce, not maple syrup. These changes will give your favorite recipes great new flavor, and your food will be healthier!
