Apple Cranberry Mulled Cider Recipe

4 cups
2 cups
2 tablespoons
1 large
1 – 4”
1 teaspoon
1/2 cup
apple cider
cranberry juice
light brown sugar
cinnamon stick
cloves, whole
cranberry liqueur

Pan Type: large saucepan

Apple Cranberry Cider Directions

Peel, core and dice the pear.
Put diced pear into a saucepan.
Add apple cider, cranberry juice and brown sugar.
Tie spices in a piece of cheese cloth and place into the saucepan.
Bring apple cranberry cider mixture to a boil over high heat, reduce temperature to low, stir in cranberry liqueur and simmer for 12 minutes. Remove spices and discard. Serve apple cranberry mulled cider hot with a dollop of whipped cream.

Recipe Serves: about 6

Note: Cranberry juice can be used in place of the cranberry liqueur, has great antioxidant value also.

Substitute, substitute, substitute. Recipes were made to be messed with. Use alternative ingredients to make your recipes healthier. Cook with broth (low-sodium vegetable, low-fat chicken or beef) instead of with oils. Use vinaigrettes or citrus-juice-based dressings instead of creamy ones, which are often full of saturated fat.
